Whistleblowing Policy

Staff Code of Conduct including Whistleblowing

The Board of Directors is committed to providing a professional and ethical environment, which serves and protects the whole education community. Certain expectations for good conduct are described in specific policies and procedures e.g. Equality and Diversity in Employment Policy, Recruitment Policy and the professional expectations as set out in national and local conditions of service and by relevant professional bodies.

The overriding expectation is that employees and those engaged to work in the GLC will adapt high standards of personal conduct in order to maintain the confidence and respect of their colleagues, students, the public in general and all those with whom the work or come into contact with in the course of their employment or engagement by the GLC.

This means that employees and those engaged to work in the GLC should not:

  • Behave through words or actions in a manner which would lead any reasonable person to question their suitability to work with children or act as a role model;
  • Do anything both at work and outside of work that will damage the reputation of the GLC or any of its employees or students
