One of the many opportunities available to our More Able students is the exposure to Higher Education at the start of their secondary school journey. We were delighted to welcome the outreach team from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, to Year 7 at the Gateway Academy. Fran and Jenna presented on University life, financing, lectures, seminars and wider academic, pastoral and sorting aspects of University life. Students' feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with comments such as: "I hadn't considered University before, but now I definitely will!", and "I want to be the first person in my family to go to Cambridge".

Further visits will include trips to Hertford College, University of Oxford, and other leading Russell Group universities.
