Are the arts and culture important?

Led by Mrs Kitsiou, this Masterclass asked why the richness of life would be negatively impacted without the arts and the range cultural opportunities which the arts bring.  Students were asked to imagine a world without music, drama, theatre, photography, architecture, sculpture, poetry and filmmaking.  The conclusion, of course, was that a huge void would be left and the world much poorer without such a significant presence of the arts and culture.  Attended by over 50 students, feedback was extremely positive, with comments such as “This masterclass really made me think about the arts as a whole”, and “a very thought-provoking session, thank you!”
