We are pleased to invite you to our Year 8 Parents and Carers Evening on Thursday 27 March 2025.  This important event offers a valuable opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers, discuss their progress and achievements to date and receive guidance on how they can enhance their performance in the recent Term 2 Assessments.  It also provides a chance to gain insights into their learning, ask questions and work together with us to support their ongoing growth and success.

The Year 8 Parents’ Evening will start at 16:00 and no appointments are necessary.  It is essential that at least one family member or trusted adult attends with your child so we can work together to ensure their success. 

There will be a choice of one free reading text or academic resource:

• Steady for This, Nathaniel Lessore;
• When the Sky Falls, Phil Earle;
• EchoStar is Always Listening, Melinda Salisbury;
• When I feel Red, Lily Bailey;
• The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh, Helen Rutter;
• Plus, many more additional resources including a pre-filled pencil case, flashcards, geometry resources etc.

Please note, these resources will only be available on the night while stocks last and unfortunately, will not be offered at another time. 

We will also be offering drop-in clinics, led by our Careers, Literacy, SEND and Mental Wellbeing teams, for those who are interested.  FREE hot food will be available from 15:45 to 16:30 for families attending the Year 8 Parents Evening, on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.  Additionally, there will be parental guidance information on various topics for you to engage with at your convenience throughout the evening.  If you require an interpreter or any other access arrangements, please inform us in advance.  Your child’s Progress Leader and Lead Coach will also be available on the night to provide support during the event.  Please enter through the community entrance and ample parking will be provided.
