Year 10 Art Trip to Hyde Hall

Year 10 students visited Hyde Hall at the Glorious Chelmsford Garden Centre as part of their first piece of coursework towards their GCSE Art project. The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to work outside the classroom to research and develop creative ideas by observing and photographing a range of natural and organic forms. Within GCSE Art, organic forms refer to natural, irregular and flowing structures found within the living world. Students were encouraged to explore the shapes, patterns, textures, lines and tonal qualities present in plants, flowers and other natural materials. Throughout the visit students were asked to observe their surroundings carefully and consider how natural forms could be translated into their own artwork. Students developed practical photography skills, particularly in capturing detailed close-up images.
