RE:  YEAR 11 PARENTS AND CARERS EVENING – THURSDAY 20 NOVEMBER 2025 1600 – 1900

We are pleased to invite you to our Year 11 Parents and Carers Evening.  This important event offers a valuable opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers, discuss their progress and achievements to date and receive guidance on how they can enhance their performance in the final exams.  It also provides a chance to gain insights into their learning, ask questions and work together with us to support their ongoing growth and success.

From 15:30, you and your child will be issued with an envelope that contains the results of the recent PPE exams.  We are issuing the results at this time ONLY and in this way, as it will closely mirror what will happen during the actual results day when students will arrive at the Academy in the summer to collect their final results.  Their feeling after opening the envelope is vital and should spur them on to working even harder to get even better results in the summer.  You will then be able to sit down and discuss the results with your child in the Courtyard Café.  There will be free hot food available from 15:30 to 16:30 for families attending the Year 11 Parents Evening, on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

This Parents’ Evening will also feature a variety of stalls from local colleges, post-16 providers and employers (please find a list of the colleges who have confirmed their attendance on the reverse of this letter but there will likely be more on the day!).  Parents’ Evening offers a unique and invaluable opportunity for you and your child to gather important information and ask questions to help guide their next steps.  As a reminder, most colleges and sixth forms will soon begin hosting their open evenings, which your child will need to sign up for.  Please note that some colleges and sixth form providers have application deadlines in December, however, your child can apply to multiple institutions.  This evening will offer further clarity on the entire process.

The Year 11 Parents’ Evening will start at 16:00 and no appointments are required.  It is essential that at least one family member or trusted adult attends with your child so we can work together to ensure their success.  There will be a choice of one free academic resource:

• Jekyll and Hyde Revision Workbook (includes answers);
• An Inspector Calls Revision Workbook (includes answers);
• AQA GCSE English Language Exam Practice Workbook (includes answers and videos);
• Plus, many more additional resources including a pre-filled pencil case, flashcards, paper etc.

Please note, these resources will only be available on the night while stocks last and unfortunately, will not be offered at another time. 

If you require an interpreter or any other access arrangements, please inform us in advance.  Your child’s Progress Leader and Lead Coach will also be available on the night to provide support during this event.  Please enter through the community entrance where you will need to register and ample parking will be provided.
