  • The GA Dance Show 2025 - At the Movies

    Published 27/05/25

On Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th of May 2025 we held our annual dance show! The dance show is an all-inclusive community dance event that includes students performing from the Gateway Academy in Years 7–11, giving them the opportunity to perform and showcase their talent and passion to an audience. The show this year included over 20 numbers in a range of different dance styles, including contemporary, commercial, acro, musical theatre, jazz and tap. In total, we had over 130 students participating in the performance, demonstrating their hard work and love for dance. Our Year 11 students also had the opportunity to perform their Year 11 exam choreographies and students across all year groups were able to audition their own pieces to perform in the show.

Students have been so dedicated and resilient during all of their lessons and after-school rehearsals.  Students gave up weekends and evenings to rehearse for the performance and their passion and dedication to dance was truly reflected in their performances. We also invited local dance schools and colleges to perform alongside our students, which gives them the opportunity to see dance beyond The Gateway Academy, inspiring them to consider dance as a post 16 option.

The students were absolutely outstanding and performed with such confidence. The dance department are very proud of each and every student involved in this year’s show both on stage and supporting backstage and want to say a massive thank you and well done to you all!
