Attended by 48 students across the Academy and expertly delivered by our Senior Lead Practitioner in Science Mr Prince, this Masterclass explored how new medicines are made, and the ethical and legal elements to ensuring patient safety. Building on their knowledge of chemistry and biology, students learnt the true cost of developing new medicines as well as the dichotomous principle of the placebo effect. Feedback from students was exceptionally positive: "I had never considered the legal side of developing new medicines before and this has opened up a whole new part of my understanding"; "I will be borrowing from the Library the book Mr Prince talked about in his lecture".
