Exam Results 2022-2023

(Please note that the validated results will be released in January 2024)

It has been a record-breaking year for The Gateway Academy as the cohort of 2023 received the best results in the Academy’s history that are significantly above national average.

Year 11 students showed great dedication to their studies and ambition, setting a record number of passes.  Over 280 Grades 7 to 9, as well as many Distinction and Distinction* were awarded to our aspirational students.

There were plenty of successes across many subjects with the national average for attainment at grades 4+, 5+ and 7+ being surpassed. Maths, English, Science, Spanish, French, Arts and Business Studies amongst others exceeded the national averages for attainment and progress

Overall, students at The Gateway Academy made better progress than many of their collective counterparts across the country and as an Academy we can rightfully claim to provide an exceptional standard of education to all our students regardless of their starting points.

Mrs McLaughlin, Head of School said: “The 2023 cohort was without doubt the most exceptional group of students, their determination to succeed should serve as an inspiration to all of us.  I would like to congratulate them and put on record my thanks to their parents and carers for their unwavering support, as well as the superb teaching and support by the whole staff at the Academy. I am so excited to hear about their future successes as a result of their remarkable achievements here with us at The Gateway Academy.”

Mrs Reid, CEO of ~The Gateway Learning Community endorsed Mrs McLaughlin’s sentiments: “I am so proud of everything Year 11 students have achieved, they have shown exceptional resilience and aspiration to achieve the best results in the Academy’s history.  I would also like to thank parents and carers for their support over the years, in addition to the committed and high-quality teaching and support they received, and of course to the excellent leadership of Mrs McLaughlin and her team.”
