Anti-Bullying

At The Gateway Academy, we are dedicated to ensuring that all students can learn in a supportive, caring, and safe environment free from the fear of bullying or racism. Bullying is considered anti-social behaviour and affects everyone. It is unacceptable, and we maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward it at The Gateway Academy. If we discover any evidence of bullying or racism, all incidents will be addressed promptly and effectively.

The Gateway Academy has an open policy for reporting bullying and encourages all students to report incidents of bullying to a trusted adult, whether they have experienced it themselves or have witnessed an incident. Additionally, The Gateway Academy has trained Anti-bullying Ambassadors, certified through the Diana Award, who collaborate with students and staff to foster a culture of respect. These ambassadors are trained to recognise and respond to instances of bullying and also work as part of the Student Voice to relay concerns raised by the students. A dedicated button is available on each year's group's Google Classroom, allowing students to report incidents directly to the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.
