Dear Student/Parent/Carer

RE:  GCSE RESULTS DAY – THURSDAY 20 AUGUST 2020

Following on from the announcement yesterday, we are looking forward to seeing your child on Thursday 20th August to collect their results, please take special consideration of the time allocations below along with the social distancing guidelines which will be in place.

With Covid-19 in mind, we must consider the current social distancing guidelines set out by The Government, especially when hosting such an important day.  To maintain safe social distancing, we are implementing the following safety measures:

1         All GCSE results will be collected from the Courtyard.

2         We will be implementing a one-way system.

3         Hand sanitiser will be provided for you upon your arrival – please ensure you use this.

4         Students will only be able to attend within their year groups allocated time slot to ensure that a limited number of students are on site at any one time and social distancing measures can be adhered to.  The timings are as follows:

·         Year 11 – 9.00 am – 10.00 am.

·         Year 10 – 10.30 am- 11 .15 am (English Literature and Religious Studies).

·         Year 9 – 11.30 am - 12.00 noon (Statistics).

5         Staff will, unfortunately, not be able to deal with any queries you may have.  These will need to be emailed to our Exams Officer Mrs Locke dionne.locke@theglc.org.uk.  This will include appealing any results that you have been awarded.

6         Staff who are in contact with your results envelope may be wearing appropriate PPE equipment.

7         Parents and/or carers choosing to attend with their child will be asked to wait outside the Courtyard and students will need to leave the Academy site once they have received their results.

Due to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) relatives are only able to collect results for a student if the Academy is presented with a signed, written permission slip from the student, detailing the name of who will be collecting their certificates.  The person collecting the certificates will need to bring photographic ID with them.  Please ensure that you email Mrs Locke, Exams Officer before Tuesday 18 August 2020, advising of this.  Relatives will be refused any results if this procedure is not followed.

Yours sincerely

Mr R Heighway
