Dear Parents/ Carers,

We hope that you and your families are keeping well in these very unusual times!

Our aim over the next few weeks is to provide you and your child with information about The Gateway Academy
via mini videos of aspects of life at The Gateway Academy, as well as ideas to support your child’s transition to the
Academy from our students themselves. We are aiming to put all our information on our website in the Student
Zone, under the category ‘New Year 7’ (http://www.theglc‐‐year‐7) for ease of
reference, so please check this regularly for any updates. There will also be a series of transition tasks for students
to work through to help them feel prepared for September 2020. Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances,
we do not know this year what our transition will look like, as soon as we do, we will of course let you know.

Information Evening
There will be an Information Evening (this was originally planned for Thursday 1 July 2020, 17.00 – 19.00)
however, at this time, we are unsure what and when this will be. One idea is setting this up virtually and if this is
to be the case, details of this will be sent out in due course.

Please note, you can still order your son/daughter’s uniform online via http://www.theglcgatewayacademy.
. If you wish to place an order for uniform, please download and complete this form and email this back to our Student Services Department, gateway‐, who will place your order accordingly. Arrangements will be made for you to collect your son/daughter’s uniform prior to the start of the new academic year.

Virtual tour of the Academy
We are planning on holding a virtual tour of the Academy to support students with what the Academy looks like
and key members of staff. Once this is in place it will be published on our school website so please keep checking
the website on a regular basis http://www.theglc‐ A wealth of information can be found
on our website, together with the fortnightly Parental Bulletin from Mrs McLaughlin, the Head of School,

May we take this opportunity to wish your families well and to remind you that should you have any concerns,
please do contact us at the Academy (see details below).

With kindest regards,

Yours sincerely
